WATER TRANSPORTATION
The coastal line of the Arkhangelsk Region of more than 3000 km long is washed by cold waters of the three Arctic seas: The White Sea, the Barents Sea, the Kara Sea. The area is rich in water recourses, the number of big and small rivers runs to 70 000, the number of lakes is over 200 thousand. The full-flowing Northern Dvina and Pechora are inferior only to the Volga in water-bearing.
As a rule, navigation opens at the end of April – the beginning of May, and closes in the middle of November. The average navigation period for many years is 175 days.
Sea passenger transportation to the settlements along the White Sea coast is carried out with the motor ship «Belomorye» of the Limited Company «Arcticreid» Shipping.
Local river passenger transportation and excursions voyages in the Northern Dvina waters are carried out by the Joint-Stock Company «The Arkhangelsk River Port».

PUBLIC BUS TRANSPORTATION
The public bus transportation is presented numerous bus routes. Ordinary and seasonal tickets can be bought at tickets booths at the stops or from the guards aboard the bus.
Public buses start their work at 6 in the morning and finish at 11-12 in the night..
