The Northern art of singing is very special; it is characterized by chastity of style, crystal sound and moderation, which are combined with epic and volitional masculine principles. Northern dances are distinguished for the self-respect of the performers, easy and graceful movements, and reserved force in quick dances. The Russian musical instruments of the Orchestra sound sincere and warm.
Originality of the repertoire and attention to the singing traditions of the Land, modern character and high standards of rendering bring the Choir well-deserved respect. The Choir continues its active tours in Russia and abroad. It is the only highly professional choir in the North-West whose long-term activity gives audience an access to the traditional Russian culture.
