The peculiar feature of the a sanatorium «Sosnovka» in the town of Velsk is its mineral water which comes from the depth of 350.3 m and belongs to the halite brine type with a higher content of bromine.
A new form of organization of health improving recreation is children’s ecological camps in the Pinega Land, Onega, and the Kenozersky National Park, annually they accept up to 1000 children from Moscow, localities near Moscow, towns and districts of the Arkhangelsk Region.
