This balneological resort is situated on a plane covered with the taiga forests, in the south of the Arkhangelsk Region, in the Krasnoborsky District. The Sanatorium is in a picturesque area, it is surrounded with pine forests, the emerald waters of the Yevda River run and 12 springs spout nearby.

Mineral water and mud are used to cure patients’ diseases. The water of the mineral fountain «Solonikha» belongs to the chloride-sulphate-sodium type (the minerals’ content is 7-20 grams per liter) and is used for drinking and baths. For therapeutic mud-baths the sulphide mud of silt is used.

Natural curing factors are the sulphate waters used for drinking and baths, as well as the non-sulphide chalebeate sapropel. Sapropel is the silt that has collected at the bottom of fresh water reservoirs where the water is stagnant. Such mud acquires body properties of high level. It collects much organic matter and bio-stimulators of different kinds – vitamins, hormones, ferments.

The «Sosnovka» Sanatorium is situated in the town of Velsk, on the bank of the river Vaga, in a pine forest. They cure bone and muscle diseases, respiratory and digestive organs diseases, nervous and cardio-vascular systems in non acute conditions.

At the patients’ disposal there is a complex of physiotherapeutic procedures, inhalations, massage, paraffin and ozokerit applications, water treatment, showers with iodine, bromine and conifer needles, a sauna, a mineral water swimming pool, stomatologist’s services, phytotherapy, 4 meals a day.
