The Onega Sports Palace (Skiing Holiday Hotel «Onega») was put into operation in 1977. In 2000 the Sports Palace was transferred from the state property into the municipal property of the the Town of Onega and the Onega District. The Sports Palace is in the outskirts of the town of Onega (25 000 of population; 200 km from the city of Arkhangelsk). All year round Onega and Arkhangelsk are connected by railroad and automobile road.
