Big and small rivers of the Arkhangelsk Regions run to 70 000, their total length is 275 000 km, including 4000 km of navigable water routes. The most full-flowing rivers the Northern Dvina and Pechora are inferior only to Volga in water-bearing. There are more than 200 000 lakes there, the biggest are Kenozero, Lekshmozero, Lacha, their area is 50 square km and more.
Very popular are rafting, kayak and catamaran voyages on the rivers in the Pinega, Plesetsk, Kargopol, Ohega, Kholmogory, Kotlas Districts, river cruises aboard the wheeled steamer «N.V. Gogol».
Unique is the possibility for speleologists to visit the karst cave in the Pinega Land (about 350), the most well-known among them are «Konstantinovskaya» and «Golubinsky Proval» – they have been announced natural monuments of the world.
