On September, 27 in the tourist complex “Malye Karely” the round table meeting with the representatives of the Government of Arkhangelsk region, Arkhangelsk Regional Deputies Council and directors of the leading regional tourist companies took place.

The event was organized within the framework of International Tourism Day celebration with support of the Ministry on Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of Arkhangelsk Region.

The round table was dedicated to the discussion of the problems and innovations in the tourist sphere and action plan of the long-term target program “Development of Domestic and Incoming Tourism in Arkhangelsk Region for the period from 2011 to 2013”. The round table’s participants noted the necessity of the legal framework’s improvement with the aim of regulation of land relations in the tourist sphere, solving guest houses and minihotels functioning issues and the registration of foreign tourists on the territory of the region. In the tourist sphere representatives’ opinion, the important direction of joint work should be the development of the regional legislation concerning the tourist recreation areas of favourable economic treatment of, which will present the juridical base for the realization of the Tourism Development Concept in Arkhangelsk region.

During the discussion special attention was drawn to the personnel training for the tourism sector. At the present time the creation of a separate department on the basis of Northern Arctic Federal University is being discussed as the basic centre for qualified specialists training for the work in the tourism and hospitability sphere and carrying out of complex scientific researches. Within the regional target program it is planned to establish an educational centre for tourist industry workers in the Ustjanskiy district aimed to provide the accessibility of tourist education for the specialists from the southern districts of Arkhangelsk region.

It is planned, that in the nearest future these issues will be brought up for the extensive discussion of the Public Tourism Council under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of Arkhangelsk Region and expert council under the Committee of Culture and Tourism of Arkhangelsk Regional Deputies Council.

In honour of the International Tourism Day the participants of the round table meeting were awarded with the gratitude of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of Arkhangelsk Region for high professionalism and contribution to the tourism sphere development.
