The first session of the Public Council on Tourism established under the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism took place on 16th of April in the Government of Arkhangelsk Region. Representatives of the regional and municipal authorities, tourism sector companies, experts from the regional educational institutions, museums, and mass media participated in the session.

There has been discussed the draft Concept of tourism development in Arkhangelsk region. The Concept includes the main orientation points for regional and municipal authorities and tourism stakeholders in tourism development in the region. Based on the Concept there will be elaborated a long-term Strategy on tourism development until 2030 and regional target program with concrete measures on stimulating the development of tourism sphere in Arkhangelsk region.

By the results of the session the draft Concept has been entirely approved. At the beginning of May it is planned to adopt it at the session of the Government of Arkhangelsk region.
