In the meeting took part the main project partners – representatives of the Arkhangelsk and Vologda Regions, Republics of Karelia and Komi. The partners from the Finnish side were the Joint Authority of Kainuu Region and Council of Oulu Region. Arkhangelsk Region was presented by the leader of the Representative Office of the Government of Arkhangelsk Region in Saint Petersburg Mr. Valery Sukhoborov, the deputy minister for youth affairs, sport and tourism of Arkhangelsk Region Mr. Nikolay Evmenov, the chairman of the Arkhangelsk Regional Tourist Association Mr. Petr Larionov.

The project is directed at the broadening of the cross-boarder cooperation in the tourist sphere through the joint development of the tourist circle, which will connect Finland with the Northern Russian regions. Within the framework of the project there will be worked out tour packages including different offers: tours around the cities (Arkhangelsk, Petrozavodsk, Joensuu, Oulu, Kajaani), visit of historical places (Solovetskye Islands, Kij, Valaam and Kivach Islands), active and health-improving tourism, including children vacations. The project also intends to held seminars on the capacity building of those who work in tourism and hospitality sectors. The realization of the planned events will let not only to activate tourist streams, but will also provide further transport logistic development between the northern countries.

The project is planned to be implemented within the program of cross-boarder cooperation of the European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument “Karelia”.
