Arkhangelsk is a fireworks of colours and a kaleidoscope of festivals! The city hosted International Film Festival «Sozvezdiye» (‘Constellation’) and TV Film Festival «Spolokhi» (‘Northern Lights’), Folklore Festival « Zhemchuzhina Severa» (‘Pearl of the North’), Music and Theatre Festival «Yevropeiskaya Vesna» (‘European Spring’), Jazz and Classical Music Festivals, Russian Hockey and Thaekwon-do World Championships.

Important for development of the Events and Activities Tourism are the Festival of People’s Creativity «Kirillov Den» (‘St. Cyril’s Day’) in Velsk, Celebration of Folk Craftsmen Achievements of Russia and Ice Sculpture Festival in Kargopol, Humour Festival of Kozma Prutkov in Solvychegodsk, literary events in memory of Fyodor Abramov in Verkola, Lomosov’s Readings in Arkhangelsk.

			«Jazz Days in Arkhangelsk» During «Jazz Days» club performances and jam sessions at restaurants and night clubs of the city take place every day.
