Automobile transportation

You can get there via the town of Velsk (hard-cover roads are usually in a good condition) from Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Saint-Petersburg and other cities of the country. Detailed information on the roads condition you can find dialing +7 (8182) 20 66 68 of the Company «Dorozhnoye Agetstvo» (‘Road Agency’) of the «Arkhangelskavtodor» or on the Company Internet site www.ador.ru.

Railway transportation

The railway road Konosha – Vorkuta runs across the District territory, which allows getting here from any place in Russia. Via Kostylevo trains come from Moscow (they leave from the ‘Yaroslavsky» Railway Station), from Yaroslavl, Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Saint-Petersburg (trains leave from the «Ladozhsky» Railway Station) to Kotlas, Vorkuta, Syktyvkar, Labytnangi, Sosnogorsk. The District centre, the settlement of Oktyabrsky, is comfortably situated; it is only 5 km from the railway station of Kostylevo.

On the «Rossiyskiye zheleznye dorogi» (Russian Railways) Public Company Internet site you can find long-distance trains schedules, choose an easier route, find out if the tickets are available and their price (VAT, insurance , and duties for issuing the forwarding documents are not included), book and buy tickets.
