 |  | THE MEZEN MUSEUM OF LOCAL HISTORY
The Museum was founded in 1980. It is housed in a wooden building of 1875 built to original design for the town Duma (council). The founder of the Museum was Aleksandr Nikolayevich Melnikov (1919-1980).
The exposition which informs on history and culture of the area comprises 9 thousand items, 5 thousand of them belong to the main collection.

 |  | THE VILLAGE OF POGORELETS, HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX
The architectural complex in the village comprises the Church of Birth of John the Precurser, the ancient mills-on-pillars, the peasants’ living and household buildings. The village would be interesting for those who love quiet country life, fishing, for specialists in the Russian Northern architecture, for pilgrims. |

 |  | THE UNIQUE HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL COMPLEX OF THE VILLAGE OF KIMZHA
There is a unique historical and architectural settlement of Kimzha in the District. The village has preserved its traditional plan, peasants houses of the Pomors, windmills, worship wooden crosses, complexes of household buildings, in a word, the landscape of the end of the19th – the beginning of the 20th centuries. The architectural masterpiece of the Russian North is Odigitriyevskaya (The Virgin Hodigitria) Church (1709). |

 |  | THE SOYANSKY BIOLOGICAL RESERVE
The Soyansky Reserve of the area above 300 thousand hectares was founded in 1983 on the territory of the White Sea-Kuloi Plateau to preserve and to raise the number of valuable animals and fishes, as well as trees and plants which are listed in the Red Book. There is no other territory as unique as this one in the Northern hemisphere. |
